What the role is:

Socure is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, and motivated Technical Writer. This is a remote position based in the US.

As a Technical Writer at Socure, you will be responsible for planning, creating, and maintaining customer-facing UI and API developer documentation. The role is part QA, part developer, part customer advocate, part problem solver, part cat-herder, but in all cases fully ready to help with anything involving content.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely in a fast-paced and highly fluid environment with product owners, engineers, product designers, and other stakeholders throughout the company to create and improve product-related documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date API documentation, developer articles, and release notes.
  • Champion the developer experience. Be the voice of the customer and ensure that we’re providing clear and easy to understand documentation that covers all technical aspects of our products.
  • Assess existing documentation to proactively identify and address gaps.
  • Provide input on product design, workflows, and user interface copy.

What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Technical Writer (or equivalent).
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Professional and Technical Writing (or related field/degree).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A firm (but not inflexible) grasp of grammar.
  • Ability to perform multiple time-sensitive projects of varied size and scope.
  • Experience testing and documenting REST APIs.
  • Experience documenting complex workflows and UI-based applications.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Markdown, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with docs-as-code workflows.
  • Experience working in a startup type environment.
  • Domain knowledge or experience working at fintechs.
